Tasting Notes: The 2013 Quintessa is a deep and thoughtful wine from an exceptional vintage. Dark and rich in color with aromas of bright cherry, blackberry and blueberry with cedar spice and notes of fresh herbs and spring flowers, this wine expresses harmony between fruit and earth. With supple tannin in balance with black fruit flavors and lively acidity, the 2013 Quintessa is truly a wine of depth and richness, balance and purity.
Galaxy Notes: Estate grown. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Carmenere (exact percentages not disclosed). Aged 21 months in 85% new French oak. To preserve the natural mosaic of the vineyard, each small plot is farmed, harvested and vinified individually so that the nuances of the land shine through. Afterward, the best components are brought together to create a wine of elegance and harmony. Depending on the vintage, Quintessa may include some or all of the five varietals grown on the property: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Carménère.
